Your Guide to Resort Hopping Around Disney World

Whenever I go to Disney World I tend to park hop till I drop, and sometimes that can be a little too much if you're there for a whole week. Yes, park days are fun & you want to get your money's worth going at rope drop till the park closes, but it's not always necessary. Today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite things to do outside of the parks: resort hopping!

Resort hopping is a fun way to explore the different themed Disney resorts to relax & enjoy the magic on non-park days. The best part about it? Going there is free if you're just checking the hotel out.

One of my favorite things to do is to call an Uber or drive if you're staying on Disney property, and make a dining reservation to access a hotel that way. Otherwise, you may have to drive to Disney Springs and ride a bus to the resort you want to go to because they don't allow guests to just show up without a reservation of some sort. You can also take the monorail, skyliner, bus, or water taxi to designated hotels that have that transportation.

If you're into buying merch, there's also a lot of great gift shop options in the lobbies of most Disney resorts. You can find ears, spirit jerseys, magic bands, & more! I always find neat ornaments that are themed to the different hotels that you can't find in the parks too.

Another great thing to do if you're in the Magic Kingdom resort area is to do a monorail bar crawl and head to the Polynesian, Contemporary, & The Grand Floridian to get your booze fix. One of my famous secret tips is to grab a dole whip float with rum at The Poly since Magic Kingdom doesn't have alcohol in the park.

I feel as if the Disney resorts have some of the best food & drinks that are exclusive to their theming you can't get anywhere else on Disney property. Honorable mentions are the Beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter, and the all-you-care to enjoy skillets at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Did you know The Polynesian has dole whip?

If you want to get away from it all if you are doing a park day, Disney resorts are also a great break away from the crowds. You can also find dining fairly easy at the hotels as most people eat in the parks. You may even want to stay next time at the resort you decide to explore because you love it so much like I do!

I usually do resort hopping either on my first day of my Disney World trip or on my rest day. Whatever day you decide to do yours on, I would recommend doing your research on transportation so your resort hopping day can go smooth!

As always, have a safe & magical weekend friends.
