Something that a lot of guests miss out on, is taking a day to relax from the parks and spend time at your resort or go shopping at Disney Springs. This shopping outlet is such a nice get away from all the hustle and bustle of trying to get to your next lightning lane or get away from the horde of people in the parks.
There are also many great dining options to choose from here at Disney Springs that are five star award winning Michelin chef restaurants. Morimoto Asia is by far one of my favorites that I've been to which is a sushi restaurant and Wolfgang Puck is a great option too.
If you want something refreshing to try there's the Coca-Cola store! Up on the rooftop you can mix your own drinks and create concoctions such as a Mojito with sprite like you see down below in the picture. There's also a lot of great little stores to walk through and you can honestly underestimate how long you could spend walking through all of the shops because it can be time consuming!
Disney Springs is split up into 4 parts called the Marketplace, Town Center, The Landing, & West Side. One day I will have to do a blog post on each of the sections. As for right now I'm just naming the highlights of the best things to do in the shopping outlet as there is a lot to cover!
If you're into dessert or have a sweet tooth I would definitely recommend going into Sprinkles Cupcakes as they have a vast arrangement of different flavors that rotate monthly. My personal favorite is the vegan red velvet cupcake which is super moist and not too sweet.
If you want to take a unique souvenir back home The BASIN store next to The World of Disney is also a great option. The BASIN store sells bars of soap that are Disney themed and you can also make your own bath salts.
A new ice cream place also opened up called salt and straw, they have these over on the West Coast in Disneyland at Downtown Disney as well. I thought the ice cream was super creamy and I got the freckled mint chocolate chip which is dairy free. They tend to have a lot of different ice cream flavors you wouldn't normally think are good like curry ice cream or fruity pebble ice cream but it was actually very good!
You can also ride in a hot air balloon or take a boat/car into the water which is a super cool experience to tell people back home. I personally have never done either of those things but I've heard that they are extremely fun.
I do believe that you can knock out Disney Springs in less than three hours if you just want to cover some of the main shopping locations such as The World of Disney or the Marketplace Co Op. Although this new shopping outlet they opened in 2017 is a great addition to Walt Disney World, I still do miss Downtown Disney and the simplicity of a smaller shopping outlet.
