Liberty Square is one of my favorite lands in all of Magic Kingdom because of the nostalgia of the history of the American colonial frontier. It just so happens to also host the only table service restaurant in this land that is my number one place to eat at in Magic Kingdom for a sit down meal. Liberty Tree Tavern is all you care to enjoy feast that has the likes of Thanksgiving food and a home cooked dinner. You will definitely walked out of here stuffed!
This restaurant has a pre-fixed menu of $39 per adult and $21 per child not including tax or gratuity. For the price point I feel like this is a very good deal as it's all you can eat. I also love the theming inside this restaurant as you feel you have stepped back in time into a colonial house like in the show Outlander. Now onto the food!
You start the dinner off with rolls and a salad. I really enjoyed the rolls and if you have an allergy they will bring you gluten-free rolls or dairy free butter. I thought this was a nice touch considering not all many places around property (or restaurants in your local city for that matter) have dairy-free butter on hand or gluten-free rolls. This is why I love Disney because they truly do care about their guests and want to provide the most magical experience possible.
For my entrée, I got the vegan impossible meatloaf with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and green beans. I have got to say that this meal was amazing & the mushroom gravy on top was outstanding. The mashed potatoes were pretty creamy, the green beans were standard al dente cooked, and the impossible meatloaf was a super unique option. My recommendation is to ask for more mushroom gravy on the side because they only pour a little bit over the meatloaf so keep that in mind!
For the regular dinner, they have what's called the Patriot's Platter that has everything you would ever dream of on Thanksgiving. This includes roasted turkey, pot roast, pork, with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and housemaid macaroni and cheese. I can't speak from experience since I eat mostly plant-based, but my table mates said this is the best meal that they had on the trip.
For dessert they have three options to choose from that are all very good! You can go with the Johnny Appleseed's warm apple cake that is vegan, sorbet for all you gluten-free friends, and then the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake. My favorite was the apple cake because it was exactly how a cake should be and it was surprisingly not too sweet.
The sorbet was decent, but it's probably the same sorbet you can get all over the parks and resorts. I would get this again if I was gluten free, but I feel as if they should at least have something else besides just sorbet.
The toffee cake however, had everybody raving over it. When I went with my parents this past October my mom said that this was the best dessert she's ever had in Magic Kingdom.
Well there you have it! I hope you all give this colonial style restaurant a try when you go on your next trip to Walt Disney World this is one of the best tableservice restaurants in Magic Kingdom. As always, these are just opinions and everybody will have a different experience.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend & have a magical Saturday!
