Why Coronado Springs Resort is the Best Moderate Resort on Disney Property

Ever since Gran Destino Tower opened up at Coronado Springs, I have fallen in love with this breathtaking resort. Located in the Animal Kingdom area of Disney World, this Moderate resort is close to the parks as well. I also happen to love the theming as you feel you are whisked away on a tropical vacation while enjoying Spanish-inspired architecture and food. Throughout the resort there are little Disney touches that don't look too out in the open but are still really fun to find. You'll see hidden Mickeys all around the lobby and in the guestrooms.

This resort has 4 separate areas that you can stay in including the Cabanas, the Ranchos, the Casitas, and finally Gran Destino Tower which was added on in 2019. Disney has recently done renovations on the Casitas so they look and feel similar to the tower rooms. I stayed in the Casitas back in October and honestly love them just the same.

One of the best things about staying at Coronado Springs is that you feel you were getting a deluxe resort for a moderate resort price tag. If you want to score a night here at this breathtaking resort, the nightly price is around $295-350. I think this is a steal considering Deluxe Disney hotels can range from $500-$700 a night.

Now onto the best part of this resort: the food! Coronado Springs has most of their restaurants and quick service spots in the tower, however the pool bar does have food such as burgers and fries.

The quick Service options are here as follows: Cafe Rix for grab & go breakfast, & El Mercado De Coronado for a quick bite to eat any time of day. For table service restaurants you have a little bit more options to choose from: Toledo, a Spanish style tapas restaurant serving seafood & steak, The Three Bridges (my personal favorite) has a mix of everything with a Spanish twist, and Maya Grill a Mexican restaurant. Amongst other lounges and places to get drinks.

If you don't like walking a long distance back to your hotel room, (um everyone!) I would recommend staying in the tower. There's a direct bus route that can drop you off at the front after a long day in the parks and you can save your feet from walking extra steps. It's a win win!

There is also a gift shop called Panchito's Sundries near Cafe Rix that has everything you need from Tylenol to Minnie Ears. Next store, you can also buy a reusable phone charger that you can swap to make your battery last longer during those long lines. I love not just the beauty of this resort, but the simplicity of feeling like you're somewhere in Spain and not in Disney World. Truly a breathtaking vacation if you ask me!

Lost City of Cibola Pool

There are four different pools here at Coronado Springs, the first one is the lost city of Cibola that includes a hot tub, along with three other smaller pools that are individually in the other parts of the resort such as the Casitas, Cabanas, & Ranchos. My favorite is the bigger pool since it's the only one that has a hot tub. This pool also has the pool bar that I was talking about above and has really good frozen drinks that you can sip and relax on one of your rest days on a sunny Florida day.

That's all for now folks! I hope you all enjoyed reading this blog post & I especially wish that you stay at this amazing resort on your next trip to Walt Disney World as this resort is one of a kind. Have a magical week friends :)
