What To Do When the My Disney Experience App Isn’t Working


Let's face it, technology can be a doozy when it doesn't work right! The My Disney Experience app literally has everything you need for a typical park day but when things go haywire and you can't pull up your next lightning lane or wait times for rides what do you do?


Contrary to popular belief, it is very difficult to do Disney World without a phone. Your phone is basically your park map when it comes to the app directing you to rides, attractions, and dining. One of the best things that you can do if the app is not working how it should, is to go at the front of the park and grab a park map. You really can't go wrong with doing what OG Disney goers used to do before we had cell phones to help us navigate around the parks!

Technology can sometimes mess up plans


Another great tip is to go to guest relations if you need help making a lightning lane, checking wait times, or making a DAS selection. These cast members are usually underneath dark blue umbrellas who can direct you in times of need whenever you have a question.

Cosmic Rewind boarding groups are hard to get


So what if you join the virtual queue for E-ticket attractions such as Cosmic Rewind or Tron and the app glitches? My best advice for you is to always take a screenshot of your boarding group right as you get it just in case the app decides to quit on you.


I have used this tip for years now when they started to release the new system of boarding groups because it's such a pain to lose your place in line if my Disney experience app shuts down. Cast members usually will work with you though, and if you show them your screenshot of your boarding group with your timeslot listed they will let you on the ride.

Disney sometimes has glitches too!


If tech issues happens to you on your trip to Disney World don't fret as usually they do routine maintenance on the app so it can run smoother as an updated version. This has happened a couple times to me during my trips and I've never had a problem with working out the kinks because cast members will work with you when technology is down.
