The number one question I usually get asked by people is about magic bands. My clients who I book for always ask me: Is it worth buying these bracelets? Yes, now let me tell you why!
There are two different types of magic bands available for purchase on the shop Disney app. Magic bands are the standard bracelets that can get you into your hotel room, scan you enter the park entrance, and for lightning lanes to get on rides. Magic Band + however is a whole other ball game that has launched in the past two years. This new type of bracelet is a little bit pricier than your typical magic band that used to come in a variety of solid colors including red, purple, green, yellow, orange, white, blue, and black.
Regular magic bands used to be included into your hotel package, but with recent years Disney has now started to charge $15 a piece for them. Now I will say this is not a necessity, but it is handy if you don't want to carry around a card ticket all day to scan into a lightning lane, or if you lose your key card to get into your hotel room. You can also charge things from your magic band so you're not having to carry your wallet all day around the parks you can just scan your band when you have to pay for something which is nice. This is all about convenience and I recommend either getting one of these magic bracelets that can make your trip extra fun!
Magic Band + rolls out even more accessible features including syncing with the fireworks, interactions in Galaxy's Edge where you can be a bounty hunter, and even interacting with the 50th statues in all four parks. The prices of these magic bands are $35 and up usually which can be a steep price point.
The extra perk for getting a Magic Band + is that they are rechargeable so the battery never goes out like the OG magic band which only has a battery life of up to two years. Whatever you decide to choose is up to you, but I would highly recommend getting one because it's worth it! It's great to know that you have extra backup in case you lose your phone or key card to get into the parks or hotel room. Extra security is key pardon the pun!
