Disney World Breakfast Series: Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge

The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort on Disney property and for good reason! You really feel like you're in a ski lodge in Colorado and at Christmas time this makes for remarkable pictures. I also love all the waterfalls outside and the nature theme to this resort as well. During my stay here this past October I dined at the Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast and this was the best meal of my whole trip!

As soon as you step foot into this breathtaking resort, you can smell the pine scent they pump throughout the lobby. I also feel pretty nostalgic about the Wilderness Lodge because when I was a little girl we would eat breakfast here and then head over to Magic Kingdom via water taxi. I love that this is such a convenient place to stay as it's just a boat ride away from MK. Note though that this is not on the monorail resort loop but this is a deluxe resort!

The Wilderness Lodge lobby sure is grand!

Now let's get to the food! I've been here for breakfast and dinner here before, but this is the first time I've came since I changed my diet to plant-based so I was a little nervous on what to order. The Whispering Canyon Café is a great family restaurant and they have loud antics where the servers tease you a little bit so be prepared to tell your server if you don't like that. I was honestly shocked at how good the food was! I decided on getting a pot of coffee with almond milk and the vegan pepper jack frittata.

I love that Disney is so allergy friendly!

Our server's name was Wendi and she was the sweetest cast member who really cared about my dietary restrictions. I would definitely recommend asking for her as her service was impeccable and be sure to give her a cast compliment on the my Disney experience app like I did.

When my entree came out, I was a little surprised at how much food was on my plate! I thought that it was just going to be one just egg patty with dairy-free pepper jack cheese and a couple of breakfast potatoes. As you can see in the picture down below this was definitely not the case and this made my list of the best breakfast in Disney World!

This plant-based frittata was the best!

Instead of getting a piece of toast I asked for a Vegan Mickey Waffle and they were able to swap that out for me. The potatoes were like steak fries with sautéed bell peppers & caramalized onions (which were delicious!). The beyond sausage tastes like how it typically does, but the frittata was incredible with chopped veggies inside.

My mom who was dining with me got the Western Style Benedict $16.00 which had poached eggs, smoked brisket, a biscuit, & hollandaise sauce. She said everything on her plate had great flavor and was a super big portion. One thing I will say about this restaurant is how cheap the prices were for what you get because usually for breakfast table service restaurants around property are $30 and up per person.

Well that's all folks! On your next trip be sure to visit the Wilderness Lodge as it's my number one resort that I enjoy going to at Disney World. This resort makes you really feel like you're going back into nature while still making you feel like you're on a Disney vacation at the same time. I hope you have a magical weekend!
